It’s a good time for progressives to focus on the medium of the political campaign button. Never at any time in history has there been such a great variety of political buttons. Activists search for buttons that set them apart, and reflect their individual perspectives on the political climate of the times. It’s not enough just to wear the button of the official campaigns - the dedicated progressive looks for something more individual. Collectors of political buttons are having a more interesting time too, building collections of pins that reflect their particular interests, not just trying to get one of everything. That’s no longer possible.

Could Ever.com ever get to be too much, though? Did it ever occur to Ever.com’s creators that the site could be used as a spam machine to push unworthy sites? Yes, actually, it did. That’s why Ever.com has anti-bot software installed, to make sure that Ever.com pages are human made, not automatic robot blog nonsense. I guess that means that Ron Paul’s supporters probably won’t be seen much on Ever.com, given that Ron Paul is the most bot-prone candidate ever.

I discovered a new source with over 1,300 liberal political buttons. They’ve got regular old pin buttons, and magnetic buttons too. Election 2008, anti-war, environmentalist, and lots of general liberal messages too. There’s even a section with buttons that have specific messages for each of the 50 states.

The Progressive Bumper Sticker blog goes with the radical idea that progressives actually stand for something more than just political advantage. So, the blog does more than just post links to bumper stickers to buy. The blog examines the idea behind the bumper stickers. Far out, huh? As much as people put down bumper stickers for having a short form of communication, the fact is that there is often a great deal of depth standing behind that brevity.
