This offshore drilling plan is the last gasp of a dinosaur economy of rusted industrialism. What we need is a new vision that can do better than offshore drilling. More of the same will just bring us more of the same, and more of the same means more failure.

Is Groovy Green really groovy? I have to say no. It’s a serious information resource with lots of great technical information and links to detail-oriented engineers. It’s got stuff that you just won’t find on in mainstream news channel, much less your morning paper. But groovy? No. That’s just fine with me. If you ask me, the world is suffering from an overdose of groove.

Now, on their protest ship the Steve Irwin, the people of Sea Shepherd are giving inspiration to all of those who are tired of seeing the riches of their planet harvested from beneath them for the sake of temporary profit.

The NRDC has set up a beautiful web site called BioGems, highlighting the most biologically critical places on Earth.

Who among the candidates for President is taking the global warming issue seriously? Certainly not the Republicans. The Democrats are not giving the climate crisis the attention it deserves either, though. They’ve relegated it to the second tier of issues. That’s why I’m seriously reconsidering whether to give Al Gore my support in 2008.

Day after day, the site tells you about how to recycle more and more materials, until you start to wonder if there’s anything you can’t recycle (sadly, yes, there are some things you can’t recycle: Plutonium, mercury, and George W. Bush being prime among them).
