There’s a lot more that the Progressives Against Obama group is protesting in Obama’s campaign than just FISA. There’s Barack Obama’s weakening position on ending the American occupation of Iraq, for one thing. Then there’s the Obama plan to expand Bush’s corrupt faith-based religious patronage program. Barack Obama has a bit of a problem with homophobia as well, opposing full equal marriage rights and using homophobic preachers like Donnie McClurkin. Then there’s the pro-death-penalty, pro-gun nonsense coming from the Obama campaign.

the Protect America Act gives Gonzales and McConnell, and through them President Bush, the power of Big Brother to watch over practically all aspects of our lives.
One site is dedicated to resisting Big Brother, and it takes on the name of the Protect America Act in order to do so. Changing the law’s name to make it an imperative, Protect America. Act! provides information and links to activism against the Protect America Act. Please, get involved, before it’s too late.

In theory, Change.org is open to anyone, progressive or right wing. In practice, however, Change.org ends up being a pretty liberal network. Why is that? Well, right wingers aren’t used to working with a genuine grassroots structure, from the ground up - they’re used to following the tunes their leaders sing for them. Change.org doesn’t work that way. It relies upon individual initiative. It’s a web site for true political independents, people who think for themselves. That approach suits liberals and their issues much better than right wingers.
