Occupy D.C. for the 99 Percent!

In two days, the biggest protest of the occupation movement so far will begin. On Thursday, October 6, 2011, thousands of Americans from all across the country will converge on Freedom Plaza, just two blocks to the east of the White House, and begin a new level of occupation protest unlike anything seen in the U.S.A. ever before.

we are the 99 percentPerhaps you don’t want to wait until, Thursday, though. Good for you! There’s an opportunity for you to take part in an Occupy D.C. protest right now. Occupation DC protesters are standing firm in MacPherson Square, just to the north of LaFayette Park, and just two blocks north of the White House, every day, rain or shine.

What’s it all about? Good question. These occupation protests are about giving a voice to the 99 percent – the people who don’t make half a million dollars per year, the people who can’t afford lobbyists, the people who work hard, and don’t hide their income in offshore tax shelters. You’re part of the 99 percent, the majority of Americans who are sick of corporate greed, and who oppose efforts to slash our social safety net while giving special tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.

If you’re one of the 99 percent, then come join the Occupy D.C. protest, and finally let your voice be heard!

One Response to Occupy D.C. for the 99 Percent!

  1. John Brooks says:

I am a 65 year old retired Vietnam veteran. I am personally appalled at what has happened to the middle class in our country. It gives me hope when I see young and old coming together in the streets to protest the economic violence that has been perpetrated on this country by the top one percent of greedy plutocrats that run it as if it were their God-given right to do so. This movement has been a long time coming, let’s make sure it is a long time here!
    Fight for change!
I am packing my kit and heading out the door! See you in the street!
