Who is taking climate change seriously?

It’s heretical to say so, but the most important crisis we face is not terrorism. The most important crisis we face is not the war in Iraq. The most important crisis we face is climate change.
Climate change is not just the potential for havoc in the future. It’s a crisis right now, with increased deadly storms, droughts, rising sea levels, animals and plants reaching the limits of their endurance, and entire ecosystems upon the brink.
Who among the candidates for President is taking this issue seriously? Certainly not the Republicans. The Democrats are not giving the climate crisis the attention it deserves either, though. They’ve relegated it to the second tier of issues. That’s why I’m seriously reconsidering whether to give Al Gore my support in 2008.
Al Gore is not yet a formally declared candidate for President. However, the people at the America for Gore coalition are working hard to make sure that he does become an official candidate. Go on over and give the America for Gore coalition your support.
