Here’s How You Recycle That Thing
Jul 20th, 2007 by director
I found an excellent site this morning from the United Kingdom. Thanks, British brothers and sisters. It’s called Recycle This, and it’s dedicated to answering the question that many well-meaning but not fully clued-in people these days end up asking themselves: How do I recycle this thing, anyway?
Day after day, the site tells you about how to recycle more and more materials, until you start to wonder if there’s anything you can’t recycle (sadly, yes, there are some things you can’t recycle: Plutonium, mercury, and George W. Bush being prime among them).
The lastest instructions are for recycling:
Business cards
Grass clippings
Shower curtain rings
Shredded paper
Bottle caps
Babies’ bottles
The effort is collaborative, so that the site invites readers to share their own ideas about how to recycle the item of the day. That means that there are often many alternative solutions available. It also means that, although the site is based in the UK, there’s the opportunity to discuss how to recycle things here in the United States as well.
